FAQ:

  • My kid is too good for his own age group. Can he/she play up?

We understand you might feel your child is excelling in their current age group and could benefit from a challenge. At BUSC, we prioritize placing players in the environment that best fosters their development. This means playing at a level that allows them to be challenged, learn new skills, and contribute to the team, while still having fun with the sport.

The decision to move a player up an age group is made carefully by our coaches. They continuously assess player abilities and development throughout the season. If they believe a player, and the club as a whole, would benefit from playing up, they will initiate a conversation with you to discuss the possibility.

We encourage open communication with our coaches. Feel free to discuss any questions or concerns you have about your child's placement. Together, we can ensure your child is in the best environment to grow as a player and enjoy the game!

  • We only want to play in the Fall/Spring. Is that possible?

We understand that kids participate in many activities throughout the year. While our BUSC season typically runs year-round, we may be able to accommodate playing only during the Fall/Spring seasons.

However, to ensure a smooth experience for both the club and your family, it's important to have a conversation about your desired schedule. Costs are typically based on a full-season commitment, but we're open to exploring options.

This way, we can avoid any surprises down the line and ensure a well-structured program for all players, including your child.

Please note: This flexibility might not always be available, so it's best to inquire about current options at the time of registration.

  • Help! We missed tryouts/just moved here/decided to play after teams were selected. Anything we can do?

We understand that life can get busy, and sometimes tryouts slip through the cracks.  Maybe you're new to the area or just decided your child wants to play soccer. Don't worry, there might still be options!

We encourage you to reach out to us at info@blountunited.com.  While we can't make any guarantees, we'd be happy to chat and explore possibilities.

The sooner you contact us, the more options we can explore!

  • What happens if my child doesn't make the team?

It's completely understandable to feel disappointed if your child doesn't make the competitive soccer team. This can be a tough experience for both you and your child. If you'd like to understand more, reach out to the BUSC for feedback. Additionally, we encourage you to continue soccer play through recreational or other team opportunities.

  • Who are the coaches for the competitive program? (Experience, qualifications)

The coaches are chosen based on their experience in the game. Coaches that have played and experienced club soccer and/or have played in college or semi-pro environments are considered first. All coaches are expected to obtain the proper license for the playing format that they will be coaching (7v7, 9v9, 11v11). Coaches that do not have high level playing experience are chosen based on having a love for the game and a passion for teaching and guiding youth to the experiences gained through team sport.

  • What is the coaching philosophy of the program? (Technical development, teamwork, winning mentality)

The coaching philosophy for the program is to provide a challenging performance environment for players to reach their potential. Through a development-focused, technical framework, coaches will guide players to be the best individual and team player they can be by working to constantly improve with each practice and game.

  • How will I be able to communicate with the coach?

You can communicate with your coach through Playmetrics or your team manager.

  • Why does the crest logo have a crown on top sometimes?

You might have noticed that our logo sometimes features a crown on top.  There's a good reason for that!

Our logo was actually inspired by the West Ham United FC logo, a well-known English football club. Interestingly, West Ham used a version of their logo with a crown from 1987 to 1999. While we don't use the crown consistently, it's a nod to our original inspiration and a connection to the rich history of football club logos.
